Like many of our credit union partners, CU Members Mortgage has a long history built on the passion of creating and sustaining the communities we live. Jimmy DuBose founded Fort Worth Mortgage in 1952 to provide residential home loans to the growing post-war communities of North Central Texas. In 1972, DuBose purchased Colonial Savings, a small savings and loan located in Lewisville, Texas. After moving the headquarters to Fort Worth, Texas, he expanded the company, originating loans in other areas of the Southwest and beyond, with both retail and wholesale divisions operating under the name Colonial National Mortgage.
Recognizing the growing popularity of credit unions and sharing their philosophy of providing more personal service, in 1982 DuBose created CU Members Mortgage, a division devoted exclusively to providing credit unions with mortgage lending capabilities. We provided countless home loan opportunities for credit union members with nationwide lending capabilities and a wide range of products including government home loan options.
While Colonial Savings has grown over the years, our focus stays true - putting and keeping people in their homes. Today, we continue to stay privately held, by choice to keep the focus on service, and not the whims of Wall Street. We retain servicing on 98% of the loans we originate, allowing us the opportunity to continue our commitment to service long after closing. We also take great pride in our compliance standards, so your credit union can rest easy knowing that we’ve got all the bases covered.
Our years of experience offer a firm foundation that hundreds of credit unions have trusted over the years and we're eager to help your credit union next.
